Is it for me?

Ask the AI that already knows you.

We are the worst people to tell you whether this is worth installing. The model you have been working with all year is the best. Paste this into it and make it score us.

The prompt
I want an honest read on whether a tool would actually help me. Not a pitch.

Unforgetter is a macOS app that gives AI coding agents a memory that survives between sessions. It keeps a folder of plain markdown on your own machine: what you are working on, what you have decided, what is still open. It registers itself as an MCP server with Claude Code and Codex (and works with any MCP client via a config snippet), and instructs them to read that memory at the start of every session. Once a day it runs your own logged-in CLI to fold the session logs back down into one up-to-date summary. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account or subscription, and it does NOT connect to Slack, Gmail, Notion or any other service.

Using what you already know about me and my work from our history together:

1. Lead with a score from 1 to 10 for how much this would genuinely help me, and one sentence saying why.
2. Give two or three concrete examples from my actual work where it would have saved me something real. Name actual projects or problems you have seen me working on. If you cannot think of any, say so plainly - that is a legitimate answer and I would rather have it.
3. Tell me where it would add nothing, and where I would probably stop using it after a week.
4. Be explicit if I am simply disqualified: I am not on macOS, I do not use an MCP-capable coding agent, I would not keep a folder of markdown around, or what I actually want is my email and chat history in the memory (that is a hosted tool, not this one).

Do not be generous. A 4 out of 10 is a useful answer.

Works best in a chat that has history with you. A brand new, memory-less session can only guess.

Why we would rather you did this

Every landing page on the internet says the product is for you. It is a low-information signal and everybody knows it. But the thing that makes Unforgetter worth installing is precisely how specific your work is, and we cannot see your work - by design, we never will.

Your assistant can. It has watched you re-explain the same three projects for months. It knows whether that is a real tax on you or a non-issue. Asking it is a better test than anything we could write here.

Where we will happily lose

The prompt above deliberately tells the model to disqualify you if any of these are true, because we would rather you not install it:

And if it scores well

Then the install is one line and there is no account to create, so the cost of being wrong is about ninety seconds.
